Re: Cooking Mistakes

I once put too much milk in a mug of tea.

My own fault for being a lazy toerag - rather than doing my usual of making it in a pot, and putting the milk in the mug before I poured the tea, I cut the corner by making it in the mug with a tea bag. I used the excuse that I was the only one around, and so it wasn't worth making a pot, but we all know thats crap - there really is only one way to make a proper brew, and that is by using a well seasoned pottery teapot with a snug fitting woolly tea-cosy, preferably rainbow coloured. And remember, it has to be a proper pot, preferably with a slight chip on the spout to ensure the correct formation of drips - none of this namby pamby glass bollox, or, heaven forbid, one of those light stainless steel ones!

Anyway, after carefully brewing the tea for the perfect 4 minutes 15 seconds, giving the teabag a quick squeeze on the way out of the mug, I ended up slopping about half an inch too much milk from the top of a full gallon into what would otherwise have been a rather grand mug of tea. Instead, total and unmitigated disaster.:(

It must have taken you ages to recover. Have you been able to make tea since?

I've been seeing a very good counsellor, but I have to admit, I am more a coffee drinker at the moment. One day, maybe, godwilling...........

You spend far too much time on that computer thingy. Now hurry up dear or you'll be late for work. And don't forget your scarf because its cold outside and you dont want to get a chest cold.
