Re: Chattanooga?
Went to Uni there and I loved it. It's very rural though, so don't expect the big city lifestyle. If you love the mountains and friendly people it will be a great experience.
There's some great coffee shops and restaurants in Chatanooga. Enjoyed my time there.

This was one of the big attractions, when I stayed at the Chattanooga Choo-Choo Hotel (I shit you not - it's a Holiday Inn) a few years ago.

Otherwise, I pass through the area frequently. Places worth a visit include
Lookout Mountain
Tennesee Aquarium
& Rock City.
Atlanta is about 2 hours away. Nashville is about 1hr 45 mins west.

I know, some of the forensic workers were staying at the hotel, same time I was. Every morning you would see them getting ready to go and do their work.

Couldn't remember the outcome of the trial, but from reading the article, it looks like he got off pretty light, (Mr Marsh sr convieniently died) Wonder how bad the mercury poisoning was?

I remember this story when it was on the news, interesting read, could never understand why he wouldn't just cremate the bodies, would have been easier than storing them.

Re: Chattanooga?
yeah, in just about every bloody billlboard and lampost within a 30 mile radius
i have spent some time there - discounting the tourist bits (ruby falls, lookout mountain etc) then it really is just another southern town...only difference is its in eastern time zone, rather than central.

Re: Chattanooga?
I live just up the road from there, and industry has been cleaned up a lot compared to 25 years ago. There are some art studios, acquarium, Nunter Museum of Art, a few good restaurants, and Unum, Cigna, Bue Cross Blue Shield, and TVA hava a big presence downtown. VW is building a new plant a short distance from I75, plus associated supplier facilities next door, and the city is making big efforts to accomodate the influx of Germans. You may find it more convenient and cheaper to fly to ATL, rather then CHA. Enjoy your trip.
