Are you going to need a car everyday or will you be living in the city?? If you are living in a city or close by with public transport I would say forget about the car, way too much hassle for such a short time period. If you need a car every now and again you can always use ZipCar.

Look at the description of the car .. "It was owned by elderly aunt.." I guess she lived a long way from the church and the supermarket, explains those 429,611 miles..

I know loads of Canadians who own cars in the US. Florida even has a special licence for them.
For two months though I don't know how you'd do it. They usually charge extra if you're not resident in the State and they at a bare minimum require a fixed address in the State.
Tag fees can be quite high in some States.
