Default Can a USC claim back NI / taxes from time spent in the UK?

Hi all,

I am a UKC, my wife is a USC. We are now both living in the US, me on a marriage based visa. Previously we lived in the UK, my wife on a work permit.

For four years she paid NI and taxes like a normal citizen. We heard that it may be possible to get a rebate on some of this money. Is this true and if so, how?

Thanks in advance,
John

P-85 for the year you've over paid whilst in the UK....don't know about back taxes for previous years, though why would you? You can use the years to bolster your SS contributions...

oh and welcome to BE.
