Talking Brother inlaw lives in Boston

Hi

My wifes brother is a green card holder (has been for years - we are trying to get him to take out citizenship)

Is he able to sponsor us to migrate to the USA - I am in IT with a post grad degree - if it helps.

thanks for any advice offered !!

Once he is a US Citizen he can petiton for your wife and yourself and any unmarried children under 21 can get immigrant visas as dependents. It's fourth preference though I think ( Brother's and Sister's of USC's).. a long wait, varies on your country, for most about 10/12 years I believe.
You may be better off with your qualifications coming over on an employment based visa. Even if your Brother-in-law files for you also you would be in the US whilst waiting for the visa number to become current. If you didn't become a PR through employment by then you could become one at that time.

Default Many thanks for your response

Thanks for the response - unfortunately it's easier to find a UNICORN than it is to find a company willing to sponsor someone in this current climate.

I don't know what your situation is like but you may want to check out the E visas and if you may be able to raise a more substantial sum to invest, an EB-5.

If you hit a dead end finding out about these let me know and I'll dig out the info for you. The US Embassy in London's website has the basics.
