I'm sure if you were in my shoes you would understand my motive. I needed to talk to Churm about something more serious then traveling or Visas.

I also have a question about renewing my British passport from the US. How long do you have to renew the passport after it has expired? Mine expired in March 2009, and I am just getting to it now. Is it too late?

You are allowed to apply for a new passport up until the day you die, after which, you can't.

No. Generally, if your passport is newly expired, it's easier to get a new one. If it's been many years, you may have additional paperwork. That said, as a UK citizen, you are always - always - eligible to apply for a new passport.
