Just out of interest, how would ID cards have stopped the London underground bombers? Just like the 9/11 Bombers, they where all perfect citizens, non put up flags (in fact all there visas were extended after their deaths)
The only use for ID cards is to help identify the dead quicker after a terrorist attack

Im all for the introduction of ID cards except on the issue of cost, you can bet they wont be cheap - if the government wants them, she should be affordable/free!
