We have a local british store here in Tampa:

http://www.londonpride.com/index.shtml

For those talking about Beans...they sell them for $2.15 which sounds much better than some of the figures people are talking about here. They do mail order so you might want to investigate prices.

Those living within range of Publix would probably do better to go there though. Our local one has a small British section and Beans are $1.89. 40 PG Tips is only $3.99 ($4.50 at the British Shop mentioned above).

That's a reasonable price - they're about $1.69 a can from Central Market here, which is the cheapest I've seen around... don't know if there's one out your way?

yeah, I can get them at central market too. Have you been to the British Emporium in Grapevine? Not sure how far away it is for you, but it's not from from DFW airport so when we're going to collect/drop off visitors I try and pop in..they have Irish back bacon!!

last time I went they had beans for 99c a can

99c is well cheap! Yes, we've been to the store at Grapevine a couple of times, but I've found that most of the stuff I can get by judicious use of the various Krogers, Tom Thumbs, Whole Foods, Central Market and a great Indian grocer's that DBJ put us onto!

Re bacon, I'd given up completely having bacon and my husband and son were gamely plodding along trying really hard to get on with local stuff. They gave up a few weeks ago and I ordered a huge batch of back bacon from William's Pork... so now my freezer if full of yummy bacon for a sarnie on a Sunday morning!

Sorry to the OP for hijacking and turning the thread into a Dallas/Fort Worth shopping odyssey!

I agree, there's not much I can't get from my local stores, but the British Emporioum does come in handy when I fancy a packet of walkers cheese and onion!!
(my apologies to the op too...the DFW contingence will now leave y'all alone ye hear!!)
