Default Biometric Passports

I just read the article below from today's expat.telgraph - does it mean UK citizen (and the other 26 visa-waiver nations) Green Card holders have to get a new biometric passport to leave the US and come back in as well or do the photo/fingerprints taken when obtaining the Green Card qualify as biometric i.d to be used on re-entry?

No -- your GC is your "passport" to enter the US.
