absolutely hands-down hawaii. it also has the cleanest air and water, etc. in the US too!

Not California, although there are places I would like to visit in the state, Not Alaska (too cold), Maybe Hawaii or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I suppose in hind site the best State in the US to call home thinking about it is Florida because more Brits live there then any other state so I believe! I stand corrected...

When I was working for a Dutch travel agency in the Netherlands, all the specials they had for the US were to California, Florida (Miami and Orlando) and New York City.

My mother-in-law is strongly recommending Texas to her friends back home.... for the Hill Country, Big Bend, barbecue, rodeos, driving for miles without seeing another car, little country stores and so forth. Though the down side is flying through Houston -- and she's already figured out that Houston is not a good final destination!

IMO, I've lived in quite a few states now on the east coast and would say that where I am now in North Carolina is by far the best place I've ever lived....in the states that is...
