Best Cities for Jobs

Boston?
Not cheap, but there's a few marketing and quite a few of those mass mailing type companies based in and around that are looking for eager grads to exploit. Check out Waltham and Needham.
Probably not the best areas to live, price wise, but young person without family could probably put up with a grotty flat share. Mate's moving out to San Diego in a bit so his place will be going spare, it's $400 a month all in, in Brookline, but he's house sharing with 6 other people.

Re: Best Cities for Jobs
I work in Marketing in the Bay Area and there seems to be a reasonable amount of work around here although the vast majority of it is for people with specific skills and/or experience. Not sure how much there is for new grads.
Sites which i know are used round here are:
Linked In (I get requests from recruiters weekly thinking they want to hire me)
Monster
Craigslist
KitList (specifically designed for marketing communications)
I also get a lot of people pinging me from my alumni networks so try and use your networks and contacts since that has a far higher chance of working than winging off hundreds of resumes.

There's more HQs of Fortune 500 companies in Texas than any other state.
Houston is humid though, so I reckon Austin & Dallas/Fort Worth are probably better choices.

Austin, Texas and Washington DC- I have seen articles on those two places being two of the very few cities where hiring has actually gone up.

It'd be great if we could all choose where to live based on being "nice" but unfortunately, the more specialised you get, the less likely it is. Of the 3, I'd go for Austin hands down as the "nicest" city - lifestyle, climate, etc. but from a job point of view it depends what your area is - if you're in "big oil" Houston is probably going to be more realistic, if you're in chip design, Austin probably more appropriate.

well, if you love city A, but you're a highly specialised widget-wangler and the only widget-wangling factory is in city B, you've got a problem....
We're an "oil family" so no matter how much we love Austin, the reality is the jobs are in Houston.

And there are few people that have such a level of specialization that there is NOTHING available in any given place.
