Would anyone know of a good tax person for a British expat in the UK? I'm trying to figure out declaring UK savings to the IRS and really would like to speak to a qualified tax accountant well-versed in transatlantic tax law.

Thanks in advance!

Hi OP,

I am sorry if it is obvious, I just couldn't get my head around your situation. Are you a UK citizen, who lived in the US, and now has returned the to the UK? Or, are you an expat, US citizen, living in the UK (and defining British expat that way). Sorry, overthought this!

Hi OP,

I assume you mean that you are living in the USA. What I do with the interest on our UK savings is simply report them on a 1099-INT even though UK banks don’t supply an actual 1099. This has worked just fine for many years.
