Default Anyone here started their own business in the US?

Did you have one in England, and transfer it?

What kind of experience did you have going into it

Did you start afresh?

How is it going? What went well, and, what do you wish you'd done differently?

Yours curiously (and considering it.........)

Everybody on an L-1 visa from the UK ..technically has transferred from a UK business

Every on an E-2 visa has either bought an existing business or started there own...

I've started a fledgling property management business, just me and a couple of part time employees which look after my property portfolio which I started and grew by leveraging equity on a property in the UK

The tax breaks for self-employed people are pretty decent, although you have a much higher chance of being audited by the IRS

I own my own vet buisiness. I only work there part time outside of my full time job that I keep for health insurance for me and the wife who is the vet but does not want to do any of the buisiness side of things, not even being part owner. SO I bought the practice and employ her.
