Depends very much where you wanna be in the UK. If it's plum smack south, then you ain't much choice. Further north there's choice, including via Schiphol, Amsterdam.

From my current locality I can avoid LHR and Gatwick. I fly to DFW from Manchester (a nice airport) via PHL.

Tell me about it. I'm flying with Continental tomorrow on their 11 hour non-stop from Newark to Honolulu (in economy).

All you get to eat for 'lunch' is a chicken sandwich, a (congealed) pizza or maybe a burger. :curse: I'm taking my own food!

Oddly enough their shorter transatlantic flights offer better food, probably due to competition from other airlines. You get a hot meal with salad and dessert and afternoon tea with sandwiches and scones on daytime flights from the UK, yet this flight is approx 7 hours.

I'm astonished that the airlines get away with it here compared to the superior service you usually get on European and Asian airlines, I would have thought that American consumers would be demanding better quality of meals on domestic flights....

I know that American Airlines has resumed it's service into Stansted. Think they also fly into Manchester? Def LHR.

Silverjet (biz class - only 100 seats) flies 2x daily between Newark and Luton(!) and Maxjet and Eos (also biz class only) from JFK to Stansted and Gatwick.
Belfast flight isn't bad, but it costs about 300 quid more than the dublin one :curse:

I'll fly to Brum on Contimental, thin plane with crap tellies be damned!

I'm back to work today as well, I give myself 4 hours before I crash and burn
