W2?
I talked to my partner while we were organizing what we needed for my K1 interview
and he said the W2 was the tax return..
My plan is to take a couple of tax returns, some of his pay stubs with me to support
the afidavit just in case.
Can someone clear up my confusion as I have seen W2's mentioned in the same sentence
as tax returns, are they the same thing or if not what is the difference?
Thanks

The W-2 form is a wage statment that every american worker gets at the end of the
year. This form lists the income, taxes, social security donations, medicare
contributions, etc. The form is used in the filing of income taxes, and it is
included with the taxes when they are submitted. The W-2 is prepared by the employer.
You can view a W-2 form here: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw2_01.pdf Alvena

He is not self employed I'm just taking as much evidence as I can think of
just in case.
Thanks

Actually, the employer letter and a few pay stubs should be quite adequate at most
consulates, except a few of the harder ones such as russia, phillipines, india, and
the like. For the harder consulates, take a full copy of the tax return including the
W-2. UK and Australia are "easy" consulates. 3rd world consulates tend to be more
strict on this issue. Alvena
