trip to louisville
hi all,
my wife and me went to louisville, ky yesterday. i filed for aos by mail about two
weeks ago after entering on a k1-visa. i got a reply back saying i needed to file an
i-130. Andy advised us to drive upthere to sort it out. So we drove overthere. Waited
2 hours, when it was our turn, i explained that we filed an i-129f, that i entered
the US on a k-1 visa and that i didn`t understand why i had to file an i-130. her
reply was "well, if you dont think you need to file one, let me see your approval of
the i-130" ?????????????????????????????? well, i explained again, more slowly ...
and than she finally asked for the approval of the i-129f (which was in the file i
send in the first place) and things got straightened out. first she made me a date
next week for a workpermit and an interviewdate in october, but right at the end she
ripped them both up saying she needed to request my previous paperwork first, gave my
receipt and i could go back home (after fingerprinting) we got up at 4.30 am to be
there at 8, waited a total of 4 hours overthere, drove 3 hours back, all for
something they should have known in the first place ... sigh.
well, just couldnt resist sharing this boring little story with ya`ll
take care and good luck all
