Some questions about naturalization
Dear All,
I just read in Nebrasca Service Center:
http://www.visapro.com/Nebraska-Service-Center.asp
about waiting times. Under "N-400 Naturalization - Initial Processing" is written
"Not Adjudicated". What does it mean? I am not sure whether it means that there is no
waiting time for initial processing or they do not process applications now.
By the way, I read somewhere in the ethnic Polish newspaper that because of the
change in the INS structure the waiting times can be much longer now than expected. I
hope this is not true since I just applied in Nebraska.
What the waiting times are really based on? On the Service Centers or the field
offices or both? I cannot find any information about my local sub-office in Idaho
Falls which is a sub-office of Boise and Helena. There is also no any information
about Boise and Helena waiting times. Does anybody know?

Re: Some questions about naturalization
I recently went through Nebraska. My undestanding of theing is that Nebraska has very
little to do with the time you end up waiting. Most of the waiting times seem to be
(from what I've read) the local office's issue. After we applied, we got our
fingerprinting notice within about 3 weeks, which means that Nebraska notified my
local office rather quickly. After that, it was in my local office's hands.

Re: Some questions about naturalization
Dear Lord Hamster,
I tried to post my reply a couple of days already but it did not show up here. Thank
you for your information. It is always better to know that the application goes back
to the local office rather than is sitting in a Service Center. My local office (in
Idaho Falls) is in the walking distance from my house. But my neighbour was waiting
for information about fingerprints for over a year! So, I have no clue how long it
would last in my case.
