Shelley/AOS, EAD
Hey Shelley, thanks for all the info.....I have noticed that you have answered these
questions on this info several times. I finally got it and understand the steps, but
it might help others to break it out. Put it in an order for them to follow.
Get temp EAD first etc.

Re: Shelley/AOS, EAD
Well, I'm pretty sure all the steps are listed at www.k1faq.com - and I must admit
the only reason I know what to do is because we have completed the AOS process and
I'll never forget parts of it - especially the ones we goofed up on.
Assuming the fiancé already has a K-1 visa Enter the US Get 90 day EAD stamp at POE
(if available) or at local INS office (if available) Get Social Security Card (if you
get EAD stamp you need to do this now in order to work, if not you can get one later
in the process) Get Married Get copy of Certified Marriage Certificate File AOS
(I-485/I-864) EAD (I-765) AP (I-131) at your local INS office Receive EAD appointment
letter and AP Get 1 year EAD card Get Social Security Card (if you didn't do it
before marriage) Note - if you don't get your SSN before marriage and do not apply
for an EAD card, you will not be eligible for a SSN until after you receive your
Green Card.
Now - what did I forget? Ken and I did this in 1999, so I must have forgotten
something. Take Care. Shelley
