Questions about US Diversity Lottery
Hello everyone
I am seriously thinking of moving to the States with my partner and kids. I've been scouting around the internet trying to get sound information on best way to do it, but can't find exactly what I need. We thought initially that we might try to get a work visa through my other half's work (he works in finance and is almost qualified as an accountant) but it looks like it would be hard to secure (your employer has to sponsor you). We are both British, but I was born in New Zealand to English parents and have dual nationality and, apparently, may be eligible to apply for the upcoming DL (I hold a PhD, so would meet the other conditions). Would we have to marry legally before I made an application or would he be recognised as my partner? Could we marry after submission of the application? Also, we are planning to have another baby soon. Presumably, this child's details could be added to the application at a later date, couldn't they? Also, the interview sounds terrifying (assuming I get that far, of course!). What are people's experiences of it? Any advice would be most appreciated.

If you marry before the DV deadline, you can both put DV applications in, with him claiming chargeability through you to NZ.
