Default Question about stamp in passport

Hi I just went to immigration yesterday for my adjustment of status to conditional Res. She told us that my wife has to send in her W-2 forms to the office. She said that everything looks good but she needs those forms first. Then she took my passport and stamped it. It says something like "status adjustment and she wrote my A# under it with a CF1 after my A#. My question is does anyone know what that means the whole stamp thing? I know I have to send in the W-2's and she said that I will have to go to Birmingham and get something done there after she gets the W-2's. Thanks for your help.

Does it have the number I-551 on the stamp?
CF-1 means you have Conditional Status adjusted from a K-1.

Are you asking why she stamped it if she still required documents? Or are you asking about what the stamp means?

The W-2 forms are probaby for the affidavit of support, but did you have an interview yet, or did you just submit your application etc.?

Hi I came down on a K1 visa and did everything I had to do .You are right about the W2 forms they are for affidavit of support. I just went in yesterday to my interview for my CPR she told me that it is pending becuase of the W2's. She said to send those in when I get back home and when they get it I will be approved. Then she took my Canadian passport and stamped it "status adjustment with my A# in red pen under it and beside my A# she wrote CF1 in the red pen.
Thanks

And no it doesn't say anything about I-551 anywhere.

She probably can't give you the official stamp until she gets all the approprite forms (for your case, the W-2 forms). Perhaps the curent stamp is to indicate you passed the interview, but it can't be official until they recieve all the required documents?

You can find some AOS info at

http://k1.exit.com/affidavitframes.html

You should probably call them to ask exactly what stamp you are supposed to receive...I'm not sure about that.

Hope that helps some

Juliet

Well, you could ask INS.
I haven't heard of this before.
Did she present them with 3 years of tax returns as required?

Ya Mrtravel we had the tax returns but she wanted her W2 forms aswell and that was something that we forgot at home so she just told us to mail them in.

It means although you have the correct stamp on the passport your case is
still pending, meaning in computer your case is not approved yet, if you now
try to re-enter the county on that stamp you will be denied entry. If you
don't send the W2 forms and this is not resolved you will never receive the
actual card in the mail, you will only have the stamp on the passport and
when it expires they will not renew it. Tom

Does the stamp have an expiration date on it?
