Companies now required to pay $100,000 to authorize H1B visas. Absolute **** in the states. Jools when would you recommend anyone who faced a denial to attempt again? My thinking is I’ll have to wait until 2029…

Sorry, that's asking me to make a guess rather than give an answer based on data in a spreadsheet that I can do projections on.

Ask me again when the spreadsheet contains results from some of our members getting reapplication results :-)

I phoned up a few more local ones from the list you provided and they say they are not authorised for posting the visa and referred me to the list on the US Embassy Site.

I am going to take a trip to London now as don't want this bit to go wrong.

Can you tell me about the D160 that they have asked for me to produce. Is that the confirmation page like the one I brought to the interview? As far as I can work out. I cannot see the full form that I completed online just some sections.

Cheers

Yeah only a few places will take the passport / documents from you. I had to travel to Manchester and pay the 12 quid ... worked well

My 5 year B1 OCS (offshore) visa arrived today. I will be applying for a B2 travel one so I'm well prepared for another 12 month wait.

Having just received a B1 OCS for 5 years which was the specific one I applied for, would it be wrong to assume a new application for a B2 tourist would also be granted on the waiver of ineligibility ?
My crime was a receipt in 1998 for £10 out of a invoice book so I'm so naughty I fall under "crimes of moral turpitude"

As far as I understand it, the waiver of ineligibility is associated with the specific visa for which it was requested. Therefore a new visa requires a new waiver.

Hello all, I'm just about to start the long process again and have an appointment at the embassy coming up, last time one of the required documents to take along was the VCU1 personal data form, however it seems like this is no longer required or I can't see that it is requested anywhere - anyone know if they still need to see this at the interview?
Many thanks.

Hi

Been reading through this a bit today and thought I'd throw my own interview date and details up, by the looks of it Im not getting a waiver but thats life I guess.

Interview 1st November 2024, the interview lady recommended for the waiver of ineligibility etc - told me 8 months or so wait, but I figured it might run over as had read a bit on another forum.

I'm mid 40's home owner, business, married with kids etc etc - possession class B when I was 18 went to court got a conviction, then a caution for a drunk and disorderly in my early 20's (In fairness I didn't really do the last one but there were good reasons to accept the caution at the time, but nevermind!)

One question I do have please - Ive tried checking the progress on the CEAC site and it wants my 'Immigrant Visa case number' - I know this is pretty stupid but for the life of me I cant find any record of it, checked my email confirmations from embassy last year and also the bit of paper with my refusal and cant seem to find it - am i missing something please? Its not the end of the world as I now realise what a total waste of time and effort the whole thing was so if it just means waiting for the official refusal so be it.

Just wanted to take my kids universal studios and visit a niece in Miami, decided to do it legit and honest and its bitten me on the backside it seems

Thanks for your time

I struggled with finding this info as well as it is not immediately clear - if you search 'U.S. DoS - CEAC Confirmation' in your emails the code should come up in the subject line of your confirmation email from the embassy. My interview was just before yours on 28 Oct 2024 so I am expecting my rejection any day now!
