Hi,

My status has remained the same too, as in, ‘send documents’ I received the email confirmation that they received my passport just over three weeks ago, nothing since.

strangely, the CEAC website now says,Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application.

For more information, please visit U.S. Embassy London.

It has updated several times, the most recent being on the 9th May, but still has the same text.

I emailed them last week, but no reply yet.

I have dropped mine on the 9th last Friday - was advised should get a notification by Tuesday however no email or further communication on the current status. I guess that gets generated when the embassy receives and processes the delivery?

I dropped my passport at the Mail Boxes Office in Macclesfield on 2nd May. I did not get any confirmation email that it had been delivered to the embassy. So far I have had nothing but an email reply from the embassy saying my documents have been received and my application is now being processed.

Just giving an update on my situation which will probably apply to any Australians and mention some of the differences. We have to supply our own photos with the application and they're not taken at the interview. I was requested to submit another photo with my passport taken within the past 6 months, which I did, however they used the original photo submitted with the application and returned the recent photos in my passport loose.

I also had 6 months to send my passport in. I'd say if I waited then the 5 year Visa would've already elapsed 6 months but there was no point waiting. They received my passport on 29th April which was 12 months to the day that I completed my DS160. Original interview was 16th October but was able to change to my 1st July appointment.

6th May I received a txt saying it was approved and I would need to collect my passport even though I'd paid $52 for the premium return as I live 700km away. 5 emails over the week (no phone number to call) to find out as it's over 12 months it automatically changes from return to collection and that I'd need to pay another premium delivery and then request a refund of the original one... good news is the price changed 2 weeks ago and is now $36. Paid on the 14th, passport collected on 15th and delivered to me on the 16th.

Never would I have thought this one would be so vastly different to my previous 2... I'll be checking the time frames 18 months from the expiry of this visa to make sure I apply in time for the next! After coming across this forum, seeing the wait times and knowing there was nothing else i could do, it was just a matter of waiting. Fortunately, i was able to rebook my 2 trips for later this year.

Goodluck to everyone still waiting, i hope it starts going faster again.

Thanks for keeping us update. Great that you have it back.

Not sure when you sent off your passport, I have added: sent 23/04/2025 received 16/05/2025 to the sheet.

Passport was sent 28th April and would've been received on the 8th May under normal circumstances.

ah that sucks, I've had to rearrange / cancel twice, think this third time is the last I can do this year.

Hopefully, for all of us!, you'll hear sooner rather than later.

It’s just insane isn’t it, the last time it took 4-6 weeks (can’t remember the precise time as I didn’t need to count it was so short!) this time around it’s just unbelievable. If it wasn’t for this forum I would be genuinely wondering if I had been missed / lost!

Perhaps you’re right, the change in text is maybe just what happens as the process moves to a different department?

the whole thing is just mind bending in regards to trying to understand why it is so vague and obtuse all at the same time.

my heart goes out to all who are going through this, grateful for this forum, which helps a lot.
The CEAC page has updated today for me and has changed to ‘issued’ after being on ‘Case open’ for 4 weeks.

So very relieved it’s done, hopefully it will not take too long for my passport to be available for collection..

Wishing everyone on here the best of luck with their journey, this has been an amazing resource for information, but also to help keep my sanity. So, thank you all!

When are you due to go away? We're at the start of Sept 2025 so 12months from the appointment and really starting to get worried as need to take into consideration the time the passport process takes

I was 2022 as well last time. I started this process in March 2024 .. and still don’t have an answer. Let’s hope they given a visa that is more than 12 months … otherwise it doesn’t leave you with any time to organise / plan / save for the trip!!

Hope you hear soon as well…
