Is there anyway you can speed up the process for the waiver of ineligibility?
No. If there was, everyone would be doing it and things would again slow down because of so many people wanting to expedite the process. Sorry, but the US sees this as a matter of national security... they don't hurry up for anyone.

10 weeks until we go and £2800 down and worrying like mad.
Sorry, you will not get the waiver in time. I suggest you make other plans.

Do we just have to wait for an email or do we need to apply?
The Consular Officer will submit the waiver request on your behalf. There is absolutely nothing you can do now... but wait.

You will not get a waiver before October, cancel asap and see what you can get back.

Hi I'm in the same boat except I'm supposed to be travelling out to Florida in two weeks I had my interview on the 18th of March and haven't had a thing back. I spoke to a solicitor in London who specialise in Immigration bit was told that I have to wait.
I honestly don't think the Americans would be swayed by a MP meddling into their affairs however it is worth a try.
I hope it works out for you.
I have accepted the fact that I won't be travelling with all my Family on this occasion to Disney. But at least the kids are still going with Mum. Not ideal but hey ho at least I'll have a bit of peace home alone.Regards Mike

Hi Mike, you are not alone we are still waiting from the embassy regarding my dad's approval from beginning of April. We have booked and rescheduled till September so we are hoping that we will hear something back then. I spoke with the NIV department in Newhapshire in the US last week and was told that as it's my dad's 3rd waiver these normally come back quicker if nothing as change from previous years when he applied and it may be approved by DHS and awaiting in the inbox at the embassy for submitting the email to send passport. So what I believe I could be wrong, embassy is under staff this is where the delay can sometimes be. I would call Newhapshire for a status update I found these guys are really helpful. All the best x

Hi
Do you have a contact number for New Hampshire?
Also do these guys deal with all the waivers? I thought it was the ARO in Virginia.

When I'm home in a bit I will get the number for you. I gave them my dad's passport number and it pulled up all the info what date he was recommended for a ineligibility waiver etc and gave me the current status... once again I could be wrong but it all falls on DHS for approval for waivers.

He lied to you... either deliberately, or because he didn't know any better. He is allowed to lie to you with impunity.

Which he does very well. He also tells the truth and doesn't sugar coat anything , no BS. This is what we all respect about him.

If by "winding folk up" you mean telling them the truth, then I guess you're right. It's not my fault that your friend booked a surprise trip for you without knowing you required a waiver because of your criminal past! So... still friends?

When we are in situations like ours you need clear, concise and factual information. That is what Ian does. His input has been a calming factor for me.

Of course! I'm fully aware of and realistic about who I am. Many people can't say the same!
