Is 5 years a standard time for a 2nd waiver? I was expecting another year again, maybe 2 at best.

What I did notice is now besides the initial fee there is also an issuance fee which I didn't have in September.
It seems like any thing is possible with us immigration system i m on my second waiver too and waiting since july so!

I went To London for my interview on 2 November. My application for a visa was refused and I was put forward for a waiver of ineligibility. The interviewing officer told me that I would hear by March. I was happy with that as our Son is getting married in New York on 28th April and we are all due to fly on 25th.

Then I started to read comments on here, which made me a little uneasy about what I had been told and March came and went with no email.

By the start of this week I had come to the conclusion that I wouldn't be able to go and then on 13th April my email arrived. After 23 weeks and 3 days. Which, when I read some peoples experiences, is very good I think
I delivered my passport to the courier that day and am now waiting for its return.
Hopefully it will be in time for me to fly on Monday 25th or if not on 26th or 27th.

Update:

CEAC status showed as issued yesterday and got email today to say that my passport was with the courier. I am collecting it from them tomorrow morning so will be able to fly out with my family on Monday morning. 24 weeks and 4 days altogether.Such a relief!

Good luck to everyone else!

Thank you! I have just collected my passport and have been given a 5 year visa. This was my first waiver so I am really pleased with that.

Certainly was down to the wire though!!!

Could someone please confirm something for me....

I've got my Waiver of Ineligibility, do I still need to do an ESTA online?

Thanks in advance

No, you do not. ESTA is only for those who can travel without a visa... and you've got a visa.

Jesus. Perhaps you don't want to answer this here, but any idea what in your background may have led to this?

He was banned for 20 years, back in 2003, after being deported. He was told that a waiver issued to him in 2014 was issued in error.
