No Stamp after Green Card interview (AOS) Garden city NY
We went for the interview today, may 3rd, married since july 26, 2002, filed then too. He asked us for all the forms: taxes, affadavit of support, letter from employer, and medical, than asked a couple of questions, took one wedding photo, quickly scanned our wedding album, and marked my wife's passpot, case pending, I asked what that means because i thought we would receive the stamp on the passport right there, he said if we need anything we'll get in touch with you, I said" ok what now" he said "you turn into a pumpkin" I guess it was his poor attempt at humor, he said I'll review the case and thats it, we left I did not ask anymore questions because it was 400pm and he seemed irritatede.
So what does this case pending/review mean, should my wife and I be worried or is this standard procedure.

Hi. It's probably still pending because of the FBI background checks.
To find out for sure, make an infopass apointment and go ask an
immigration clerk.
best of luck,
mimi

It sounds like the officer needs to review some things in your file before making a final approval. Pending/review means that you're not approved yet, that approval is still pending. Since he didn't ask you for further information to turn in, there's not much you can do for now. I'd say if you don't hear anything in 30 days, go via Infopass to make an inquiry in person.
It's not all that uncommon for something like this to happen. I wouldn't worry.
Best Wishes,
Rene

It is strange that you weren't told something, but strange is the norm
if you ask me. As I said in another message, my wife was approved, her
passport stamped, and we left very happy. Several hours later the
officer called me asking questions about my mortgage. I had told him in
the interview that I had no mortgage. I did send him more information
(letters to us both, some pictures, the satisfaction of my mortgage,
etc.) and a letter asking what the heck in a nice way. He did call me
about a week later to tell me everything was fine. My wife got her card
in the mail. The date on the card was the date of our interview. So, I
still wonder why I got the first phone call and exactly what he thought
he was missing.
