New I-864 Question
Hi,
My wife is completing the new version of the I-864 (she is the US citizen, I am the AOS applicant). In Part 5, "Sponsor's household size" it asks for two pieces of information: i) Persons you are sponsoring in this affidavit and ii) Persons NOT sponsored in this affadavit. The first section is simple enough, however the second is confusing. There is a box, c), that says "If you are currently married, enter '1' for your spouse". Why would you enter '1' for your spouse when this form is being used to sponsor the spouse! Help please!
Thanks!

Re: New I-864 Question
Because the spouse is a member of the household?
Note: The form says in caps and underlined DO NOT COUNT ANY PERSON TWICE
Therefore, if the immigrant is the spouse and counted on the first time, you would NOT put the number 1 in for the spouse because the instructions are clear and says not to count anyone twice.
Remember the I-864 is used for other immigrants besides spouses, i.e. parents, children.
The instructions appear from what I see are straightforward and not cryptic ;-)
