I'm only disapointed that I only just logged on for the first time today and saw the thread. It sort of loses an edge when a person only starts posting when the threads gone off the boil.

Oh well, their will be another one in a few days.

Personally, my GC came free in a packet of Kelloggs Cornflakes. I didn't want to move here, but the INS wouldn't take no for an answer.

As for the rifle, that remains to be seen. It's a 1967 Ishapore 2A1, looks very tight, but I won't know for sure until I've headspaced it, test fired it or both.

You unemployed people sure eat good & buy good stuff.. remind me why you want a job again?

It was my Valentine's rifle, so it doesn't count as spending.:p

You get a "valentines rifle"? I wonder if my wife would let me use that as an excuse to buy an M1?

It's got to be worth a try. :)

If you're a USC, join the CMP and they'll sell you one cheap.

I was thinking that a Valentine's rifle meant something like this...

Oh yeah, and when I read stuff like this, it makes me wonder why people want to come here anyway. America has gone to the dogs...

Oh come on, even the Venus de Milo is wearing SOME clothes (plus she has a head).

It is (was) an awesome sculpture though.

Ill toss in a little comment about lawyers just to keep it interesting.

I didn't need one to hire one, thanks to further research and the bloody good advice, comments and steerage from folks right here on this site when we found ourselves with a less than straightforward case. I was very grateful for that and said so at the time. It made a big difference.

Of course, it is highly questionable whether I would have landed in the situation in the first place if I had had a lawyer from the get-go. (lawyer may have said you need more evidence to send in or..they may not have done). Its a moot point and completely untestable.

Yes there are bad lawyers out there. Plenty of good lawyers out there too. Its down to the individual to assess their own needs and see if they want one. In complex cases, they are a necessity.
