Default N-400 interview question

Hi everyone,

I have my N-400 interview coming up on the 13th November, and know what documents to take.

However, the letter said I should be 'properly attired.' Now, obviously I'm not going to go looking like a scruff or anything, so wondered what is expected. Probably thinking too much into this, but does it just mean smartly dressed

What did you guys wear when you went for the interview?

Casual dress is fine. Clean untorn jeans and a t-shirt without a logo or verbage is good or a pair of khaki's and a button down casual shirt will do it.

My hubby worn dress pants and a button down shirt.

Hi:

I think no shoes, sandals or tank tops. It can vary by culture. If you feel comfortable in clean jeans, cowboy boots and a cowboy shirt and the appropriate hat -- fine.

[BTW, the only problem I've seen with the many Mexican men who come in dressed that way is that big metal belt buckle and trim on the boots set off the security alarm. But after one has put their clothes back on past the security post, the stuff is just fine for the actual interview].

Thanks both for your input. I will try and avoid any type of cowboy outfit, though.......not very feminine looking
