my time line for N400 - took only 6 months?
INS received my N400 application on March 28, 2002.
Got my fingerprint on June 28, 2002.
Got a letter this morning for an naturalization initial interview on Oct 8, 2002.
My cousin says if there is a swear in ceremony, I get my citizenship on that day,
otherwise in a few week to get my citizenship.
Why is true? Why is it so fast?
Oh, I been a green card holder since 1987.
I live in Atlanta.
Got my fingerprint on June 28, 2002.

Consider yourself very lucky. I'm in Miami. Applied for citizenship in Feb. 2001. Got
fingerprinted in August 2001. Have not heard from INS since, almost a year! I have no
idea why it's taking so long.

Re: my time line for N400 - took only 6 months?
Yah, I am VERY LUCKY.
Why is mine so fast?
I read on ins website now they are trying to cut it down to 6 months.
You have to call the INS to find out why your application is taking so long. You got
the A number right?
