Multiple Entry visitor visa arrival restrictions
My parents are coming from India to visit us in August. They have a 10
year multiple entry visa. They last visisted us from July 2002 till
December 2002. Is there any restriction on their visit in August. I am
thinking that since they have a 10 yr multiple entry visa all that they
have to do is buy flight tickets and hope they get a 6 month I-94. Am i
correct is there anything i am overlooking.
Thanks for your help.

yes, your are correct. perhaps your parents can ask for a 6 months or
whatever period (max 6mths) they intend to stay to the officer at the
port of entry. At least the officer was nice to my mom and she got
6months to stay with no questions asked.
good luck.

I was informed by someone that one has to stay away for 1 year before
making another visit. I was just a little confused by that statement. is
there any law like that ?

There's no law that says a year's absence is required, but such things are the discretion of the POE agent. He or she needs to be satisfied that the individual is not living in the U.S. The process can get confrontational the more time folks stay in the country with visitor's visas. Particularly if this is just your parents' second entry, I wouldn't anticipate a denial, but there may be a few more questions than the last time.

Re: Multiple Entry visitor visa arrival restrictions
nope. however most of the officers at PoE's are very nice to elderly
people, thats MHO. moreover your parents had visited US once so there
shouldn't be any problems at all.
