You can also call the IRS and ask them to send the tax transcripts. That is
what I did when we had to apply for Clive's AOS paper work because between
my moving I had lost the original forms, and they were excepted by INS. I
received my transcripts for 3 years (all on one sheet) 5 days later in the
mail...as easy as pie!!!

This is just my opinion based on our experience......

Default Missing W2 for Affidavit Of Support - Help Please

Hello,

I've just relised that I'm missing a W2 for our 1999 Tax returns. We
have everything else we need, all my wife's 3 years Tax returns and
W2's and for my father in law as Co-sponsor We have 3 years of Tax
returns and W2's For 2000 and 2001 but not 1999 ? My WT wavier expires
on the 30th of December and we need to send of the Petition so it
arrives in the INS Office before that expires. Has anyone any ideas of
what I can do since we don't have the Year 99 W2 for my father in law
to go with the 1-864?

Also when entering in Yearly Salary amounts on my Wife's I-864 and my
Father in laws as co-sponsor do we enter Gross Wages for the most
recent year or Wages Less Deductions into the forms can anyone tell me
please.

Out of all the Forms the 1-864 is the one, which is most confusing and
has my head in a scramble and need some help and clarification please.

Some background information....

Came to the states, Married my American wife and are now filing for an
Green Card due to marriage to an American Citizen while living here in
Florida. Marriage took place in Florida.

Thank you for you help.

I was also missing my 1999 W2 when I filed my I-864. Since everything else was complete, I decided to take a risk and mail it to NVC. At the same time, I also requested a copy of the W2 from the IRS (since my employer from 1999 is no longer in business) in case I received an RFE. Fortunately, no objections were raised, and it took the IRS quite a while to send the duplicate W2 (in fact, my wife received her immigrant visa only a few days after I finally received the letter from the IRS). I believe the I-864 package from NVC also required me to sign a form allowing NVC to contact IRS about my tax records.

I am not advocating that you send in an incomplete package if you are uncomfortable, just listing my experience.

Try visiting the local IRs office and ask for a "tax transcript" for the
1999 return. It will include the W-2 info. You should be able to get
this within a couple of weeks, maybe quicker.
