LPR and fiancee abroad
I became an LPR 1.5 year ago. I have a fiance abroad. I tryed to
invite her to the US, but her visitor's visa has been denied.
I wonder, if I go to her country and marry her, can I then file I-130?
It looks that current processing time for I-130 at Vermont Center is 5
month. If I-130 is approved, will she be able to come to the US and in
what status?

The actuall process is set out on the USCIS site and www.visajourney.com

I do not get... It's going to take THAT long??? I-130 process takes 5
month... So, I-130 approval will not allow her to come?

Re: LPR and fiancee abroad
She needs an Immigrant Visa to be able to come. Even with an approved I-130,
if the visa is not available yet as per DOS Visa Bulletin, all she can do is
wait!

BTW, your processing time is off a tad. I just looked at the VSC processing times and they are now working on I-130's like the one you would be filing filed before October 22, 2005.
However, do note that the Depatment of State will be issuing immigrant visas during the month of May to persons in her category for whom the I-130 was filed BEFORE March 1, 2002 [other than Mexico which is June 15, 1999]. The Department of State has noted that there has been recent heavy demand for visas in those categories and the classification actually may go backwards. But what will happen in the future on visa number movement is speculation.
[Warning -- do NOT take the March 1, 2002 cutoff as "we have to wait four years" -- it can shorter or longer. It depends upon the number of people "in front" of you in the line and the status of their cases].
However, if you become a Citizen, the I-130 will be converted to "Immediate Relative" for which there is no numerical restriction -- the only delays will be those inherent in the paper chase.
