L1-B to Permanent Resident

L1-B to Permanent Resident
I have been working in the US on an L1-B visa for a couple of months. I'm looking for some advice/experience on gaining permanent residency.
I understand I have two options. My company will probably sponsor a green card application after a year, however as I'm married to a US citizen I also have the option of a family-based application.
Any advice as to which option is the quickest/least painful?? Also does it make any difference which route I've taken once I have permanent residency secured??
Thanks all

L1-B visas are not really dual intent, as I understand. It may be more
difficult for your company to get approval. It is also pretty expensive
for your company (advertising, fees, ...) which may cause them to be
cautious. Also, there is no assuance of an employment visa being
available (backlog). The second option you have is far more desirable,
(and may be more fun)
