Immigration and career related issue....
Hello all,
I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is a PR of Canada(Citizen of
India). She is a physician by training. Since residency in Canadian
hospitals is extermely competitive and difficult to get, she has
decided to apply in the US first.
1) She will have to attend interviews in the US. Which of the
following visas is best suited for the purpose? F-2(ie I am on F-1
visa), TD(I am on TN visa) or she independently applies for visitor
visa.
2) Which of the above is easiest to change status to H-1?
3) Where do these visas stand from employer(hospitals) point of view?
From what I understand, US Citizens are at the top of the pecking
order for jobs, followed by GC's, then by medical graduates from
Carribean islands(and other Countries)who have done internships in US
and finally the FMG's.
Thx
Pranlal
