Default I want to understand these 2 things

I read on uscis website that

"Applicants who are inside the United States and have filed Form I-485
(Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status) are
eligible
to apply for a work permit while their case is pending. You should use
Form
I-765 to apply for a work permit." Now question:

Q1: When a person applies for AOS at District office (my interest is
for family-based category), can the person receive work permit (EAD)
before AOS is approved?

Q2: What's the chance of getting work permit (EAD) before AOS
interview time?

In the two cities I checked for processing date for AOS and EAD, here
are the result:

Form Now processing Cases with Receipt Notice Date
of
City 1: I-485 (AoS) October 06, 2003
I-765 (EAD) March 22, 2004

City 2: I-485 (AoS) June 01, 2001
I-765 (EAD) February 01, 2004

Q 3: I noticed that all the cities I checked, EAD processing dates are
receipt dates with only a month or two ago; does that mean, people
receive Receipt date Notice Letter for EAD almost immdeiately after
turning in the application, say along with AoS application?

Q 3: Does the above info mean that EAD application gets processed even
before AoS application gets processed and **hence** a person can get
EAD before AoS interview? In fact how long does it usually take after
the AoS interview to know whether it's approved or not?

Q 4: Last but not least, how long after sending AoS application does
one get the reply letter of Receipt Notice date? Does it also depend
on the city/District?

Q 5: How long after sending EAD application does one get the reply
letter of Receipt Notice date? Does it also depend on the
city/District? This question is basically the same as Q 3.

Tahnks for anyone who can share the experience with your city (even if
you don't want to say the city name.) I just want comparison between
"AoS" and "EAD based on AoS" processing.

Yes.

If you have not received an EAD by the 91st day after the date of the receipt notice they send after filing the I-765, you are eligible to receive an interim EAD on the spot at the local office. This information is contained in the instructions on the I-765.

About 100%.

Yes. It also means that EADs are being processed quite quickly in the cities you looked at. In some places the wait is substantially longer and interim EADs become relevant.

Yes, the EAD is processed much more quickly than the AOS. The EAD is, for all intents and purposes, unrelated.

Your other questions I cannot answer.

Thanks for info on EAD. Good to know about Interim EAD.
