I am an American!
Hey all!
Just came back from Charlotte.....I am an American!
The ceremony and oath were really nice and pretty laid back too. I was only asked 8 U.S. history and government questions and asked to write and read one sentence. It has been a fairly long journey but tremendously worth it. (I started the whole immigration process on May 2, 2000 and officially finished it on May 3, 2007.....whew! Pretty long eh??)
Thanks to all who have given me very valuable guidance and advice and also listened to my many rants over the years.
Next step.....passport and registering to vote....Yay!!!!

Re: I am an American!
It has been a long haul for me too. The ceremony was very brief and very laid back, but nice. Out of the whole ceremony, there was one thing that really kind of distressed me though. Brace yourself now....I could not believe this, but the girl beside me was doing her chemistry homework on one of those little palm computers throughout the whole ceremony. I felt like taking it out of her hand, throwing it against the wall, and telling her to have a little respect for at least a few minutes for her new country and those around her who are proud and excited to become US citizens. Other than this annoying little shit beside me, it was great!
