Hi,

I have went to Newark(NJ) to get my fingerprint on Feb.10.
I wonder how long will it take to receive my working permit and long
will it be for intervew?
Also, one of my friends' experience in Dallas(TX) is that INS collected
her fingerprint after interview. Does that mean probably my wife and I
don't need interview or just there is different policy in different
states?

Did you get fingerprinted for EAD or AOS, or both?

For your EAD, if you don't get the card in the mail within 90 days of the date on the NOA, you can make an Infopass appointment to see about getting an interim EAD. For AOS interview, you'll have to check the processing dates for your local office at www.uscis.gov.

Dallas has a special program called DORA which has a different process than other local offices. Normal procedure is to be fingerprinted before the AOS interview.

Thanks for your reply, Rene!
I am not sure my fingerprint is for EAD or AOS but I did receive two
NOAs: One is for I-130 and the other is I-765. The notice date on both
NOA is January 04.2006. Does that mean I have to wait at least till
Aprial 4th to do next setp? Wow! If that's so, there is a long time to
wait. I really wish the procedure can be sooner.

Hi John,

The AOS biometrics is a 10-digit fingerprint scan. The EAD biometrics is 1-digit plus a photo. If you had all this done, then you've done both.

Yes, April 4th would be around 90 days from the NOA date. Hopefully you get your EAD before then, but if not, that's when you can go get an interim one.

I had my fingerprints done at Newark aound the 20th October (for EAD and AOS), I got the EAD just under 2 months later. My interview is on Tuesday (28th Feb). Of course your timeline could be different.
