Default How do I order tax transcripts????

How do I order tax transcripts? The reason for asking is that I am visiting in the
United Kingdom and can't seem to talk to a real person. I called my local office
(where I live in the states) and it is just an automated machine giving me all kinds
of 1-800 numbers that I cannot for any thing find a way to call them from the U.K.
Does anyone know of an address to write to and request it and what exactly do I need
to ask them for? I need them for my fiancé to bring to his interview with the
affidavit of support

Thanks Sheila

I just received my transcript last week and it just says to call1-800-829-1040. I
don't know what to tell you being overseas. You may be able to do it online, but when
I tried I couldn't find anything. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Hi Sheila, I ordered tax transcripts from Canada by mail. If you go into the IRS
website www.irs.gov and put in Form 4506 in the search for forms box, you will get
the "request for copy or transcript of tax form" application, which you can print out
and mail to the proper address (found in the instructions, it will be based on where
the tax return was filed). I am still waiting for mine, though they said something
about it taking 10 days. I guess my requests via snail mail probably took that long
just to reach the U.S. Anyway, good luck! Peggy
