Here we go again ...
I'm in the US and now hold a 10yr greencard, my son who is currently 15 has decided he would like to take some time out and come and live with me for a couple of years when hes finished school this summer. He has dyslexia and has found school more than challenging and doesnt want to go to college.
So far I've worked out that I or my USC husband need to file I-130 for him but apart from that I am totally lost! I cant find a timeline anywhere (where did Matt Udall's site go?) and would really appreciate some advice on what we need to do to get him over here.
thanks in advance

next stupid question, is it better (quicker) if I petition for him as a LPR ? or my husband as a USC ?
AND .... am I reading correctly that we can file for him once he is in the country ? and if so does that mean he can come in on a visa waiver ??
questions questions

I'm sorry...I haven't gone through the process of bringing a child over. Hopefully someone who has been through it will chime in with some comments.

Better for your husband as the USC to petition for him as a stepchild. No you need to file for him while he is residing in the UK. You can get the process started now and by the time he completes his studies this summer he should have his visa for entry as an LP. If you become a USC before his entrance, he might well become a US citizen upon entry as well. Check the age limits on that because I'm not sure on where the break off point is, i.e. 16 or 18.
