Had my Oath Ceremony during Covid-19
Hi everyone
Yesterday I attended my Oath Ceremony in Orlando FL. It was not what I had expected or imagined it would be like prior to COVID-19 but I appreciated the fact that I was lucky enough to have it happen during this time. It was scheduled for 12:30pm, I arrived at 12:10pm and was asked to wait in the parking lot until 12:15pm. Masks were mandatory. Inside there were two officers who processed myself and 3 other people. The auditorium which is usually used was closed and the 4 of us were asked to stand on marked areas 8-10 feet apart. We were in the huge hall which is normally filled with a few hundred applicants waiting for interviews, it was surreal to be there with just 3 others. At 12:25pm, 4 officials came out to greet us and apologized for the lack of ceremonious festivities with family and friends. They clapped and cheered after we took the oath and tried to make it special for us, which it was. We made no contact high fives and then left. That was that. An official said that they normally hold the ceremonies for 60-100 people at one time. Good luck to everyone else waiting on their ceremony dates.

Congratulations and welcome aboard.
Thank you for the report on your ceremony. I imagine that yesterday will be even more memorable than you would have anticipated four months ago.

Congratulations on your new status! Your ceremony sounds in many ways more personal than a huge one, even if friends and family could not attend with you.

Congrats!
That really is so different than mine last year where there were easily 400 people in the hall (including families) How times have changed.
