h4 to h1
Hi,
actually i came to us on h4 visa. after coming here i applied for h1b
through employer.
i got my h1b approved in last year november,05.i applied for ssn in
dec ' 05.but till now i didn't get my ssn.when i went to ssn office to
verify abt my ssn,they told me tht still my status has not been updated
ti h1b,still it is showing as h4,so they can't issue ssn until it
updates to h1b.so i called to ins,they told me tht i need to keep on
contacting ssn office...
i have my i94 form,everything.its already 4 months all over........
can anyone suggest any solution to my situation.....

Contact your local Congressperson for assistance. Straightening out this
kind of bureaucratic messup is part of their job.
