I Believe may visa may change at some point to allow my partner to work. The embassy official advised we could do this relatively easily.

Completed PhD in astronomy in the UK and applied for a job with people in my field all over the world. Smithsonian Observatory hired me and sponsored me for H1-B. Twenty four years later I've had a Green Card and I'm now a US citizen.

My route was very similar to Sarah's hubby. Was planning on a L1 but my original company bailed on me. I applied from the UK, got job offer and sponsorship, converted H1B to green card application after 1 year. Met my wife (a USC) 3 years before i came over, and converted my employment green card app to a marriage app after 1 year of processing. Recieved my conditional GC after about 15 months.

specialised in a 'niche' field covering equipment compliance and conformity to european requirements. Was headhunted by a company over here who I had dealings with 15 years ago when they were first starting up. They remembered me 6 years ago when they were looking to expand
