H1B Q...Please HELP!!!
Hi,
I am a student pursuing my second Master's. Last week was offered a full time job at a very reputed company and they want me to start with the work ASAP! But due to the limited H1B quota and issual of the VISAS only by Oct, I am in a fix!
1.) Can my employer file for my H1B and I can start working immediately? What kinda status would I be in during the period I start working and my H1 gets approved from INS?
If 1.) is not possible, is there any way out so that I can start working ASAP! Right now I am in F1 VISA status........
Please lemme know...since TIME is of the esence, I would appreciate quick replies!
TIA

The employer can file for an H1, but only with a start date of Oct. 1.
You can absolutely *not* work before that.

Look into OPT and/or CPT. Check with your international student advisor.

You need to talk with your international student advisor about that.
