H1 stamping in London (UK)
Hello All,
I am a British citizen and am goin to UK for a couple weeks. I was wondering if anyone has got his/her H1-B visa stamped in UK, recently. If so, could you please let me know the procedure to follow, like embassy to contact, take appointment, and how much time it takes to get it stamped, etc.
and whether it would be easier to go to Canada and get it stamped(and issues involving the same) ???
Thanks in advance,
-G

Your best bet is to visit the Web site of the US consulate in London.
There is a list of all consular Web sites on http://travel.state.gov.
If you have time, London is probably a better bet for you. I think you
need to make an appointment around four weeks in advance, and in most
cases will have your passport back within about a week of your
appointment. Of course, if the consulate decides that you need to
undergo the security background check, there is no telling how long it
will take - but in that case, Canada would outright reject your
application, so even then you'd be better off in London.
