H1-B in Nassau?
Hello all.
I've been lurking for a while and now have need of your collective advice.
I have lived in the US for 7 years. I originally came in in an L1-A, which was renewed (in London) once. Sadly my employer was a loony, who wouldn't sponsor a perm res petition because he 'wanted me on his leash'. I found another company to work with in the same field, created a business plan and had my immigration attorney apply change of status to B-1, which transitioned to E-1 three months later (all done whilst I was still in US).
Worked on shitty E-1 for just over a year - and was then offered a great position at another company, which successfully petitioned an H1-B on my behalf, which came into effect last October ( - again, all done from US).
I have been land-locked in US (though always in status) since November 2005and I want to get a visa, so that I can travel again.
Aforementioned Loony employer, contacted UCIS, ICE and US Embassy in London, when I left, stating I was here illegally, that I had stolen from him and that he was in the process of prosecuting me for criminal activity (none of which is true - just very bitter, manipulating and malicious).
I worry that his mischief could potentially compromise my visa interview - my immigration attorney agrees that this might complicate things and suggested that I think about traveling to Nassau, rather than London for the issuance. On paper this looks like it is feasible (and a damn sight more cost-effective and quicker than London) - I just wondered if anyone had taken this avenue - or if not, what the consensus is on it's viability.
Sorry to be so long-winded, but I have noticed the flaming, some folks get for asking vague questions, without supporting info.

Re: H1-B in Nassau?
I've had a H1B renewed in Nassau and would certainly recommend it. I stayed in a hotel just up the street wandered in about half an hour before my interview, processed within an hour, left my passport and collected it the next morning spent the day on the beach
Compare that to London for my one renewal, waitied in the rain for 3 hours spent another 2 in the room (I got in at lunchtime) and eventually got my passport a week and a half later
That said Nassau cost me about 3K
