H-1B --> B-2 --> H-1B
If someone is switching from an H-1B to a B-2 and then to another H-1B, how
does one make sure that the I-539 (switching to B-2) won't get denied
ultimately?
What happens if the H-1B transfer (assuming premium processing) is approved
but the COS to B-2 was later on denied since it can take months.

Don't worry, if the new H-1B is approved, the B-2 is considered
automatically withdrawn. BCIS may internally still continue to process it
(they are not very efficient), but even if they eventually approve or deny
it, it is safe to ignore. Just be sure to keep all paperwork.
