Got K-1 - now for House sale UK

I've just got the K-1 Visa at the London Embassy (Hurrah 
and now need to go through
house sale and possible sale/storage/transfer of contents to USA. I'm obviously well aware
of the voltage difference for electricals. Our plans are for me to sell, emigrate, marry
so we can set about house purchase in the USA.
Has anybody been through the UK house sale side of things, or able to offer any advice or
point to any useful web pages? Any info or hints will be appreciated.
(By the way, to anyone still waiting for interview at London Embassy, it's a bit
nerve-wracking but everyone's very helpful and nice .. so don't worry)
