Default Getting the Right Visa...

Hi,

I'm popping my cherry tonight on this forum site

my name is Adrian, I'm stuck with the classic scenreo... I'm Bristish and have an american girlfriend... talked about marrage... and all that... Not quite ready... However there is a twist...

My Aunt own a web design company in the US and she is intrested in hiring me...

obversely I have to do the ground work in finding the right Visa.... I have a BA(hons) and PgDip both in the field of design and I have worked as an Art Director and a freelance designer... and currently working as a graphic designer at a small studio

I looked into H1-B visa.... I read all about... but saw this 65,000 cap thing... I wasnt sure of the whole process and how easy/hard it is....

Also is there any other visa that my aunt could use to bring me over???

Any help will be great!!!!

Mr Desperado aka Adrian

I think you'll find after all your research is done, that marriage will be either the easiest way, the fastest way, or the ONLY way.

Very difficult, and I have no idea if your Aunt's business qualifies to hire you...or if you qualify for the H1B.

Try looking in the Wiki Articles here for an article called "Pulaski's Ways". It lists every available visa to the USA. You'll have to see which categories best fit your scenario(s).

For what position?
How big is the company?
Can no USC do the job she has in mind for you?

I don't know for sure, but I think even if you were lucky enough to win the H1B lottery, I am sure your case will be scrutinized very closely since it's a family member hiring you.

or get her to open a uk branch employing you and then after 1 year transfer over on an L1 visa (but keeping the uk branch open at least as long as you dont want to be an L1 anymore).

but way, way, way easier, quicker and 'assured' (as much as can be) is the marriage or fiancee route.

It's not a twist that is going to help you at all.

Well said. Work visas are very difficult to get. K1 (Fiancee' visa might be the best option here...

Good Luck!
