Fingerprints Check
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how long fingerprinting results take to get back to BCIS? I am a DV 2003 winner (ny number is current for September) and I need to have fingerprints check and interview before September 30 at the local BCIs in Newark, NJ. Do I have a chance to get a green card?
Thanks.

I have heard that once u go to your interview(your fingerprints are being checked at that time)u get an answer right away, but if BCIS have to check something else they are no sure of, they will mail u the answer. One u went to your inteview befoe sep.30 don't worry prints, besause the most important thing is to get an interview before sep.30. many people loose their GK because BCIS don't rush to give them an interview appointment.
did u get your apointmet day already?
did u go for fingerprints?

Re: Fingerprints Check
It is going to be very tight. Contact an attorney and/or your
Congressperson to see if they can help. Unfortunately, I hear that BCIS
seems to be rather unresponsive in many cases.

if your case number falls on sptember, BCIS will schedule your apoitment with them(interview)in september, but before that u have to be fingerprinted, so probabbly it will happen in august. When u go for your interview in september, the aproval is the thing that matters, when u get your GK is not that important, once u are aproved u have to wait to get a GK by mail.Good Luck!!!!!!!

Thanks All. I already have a lawyer. If it does not work out this time, I am moving to Canada this time. I still have my permanent residence valid there.

BCIS is supposed to take all reasonable steps to expedite DV processing
before the end of the fiscal year. In August, ISD used to send out a
field memo to all district offices reminding them of this policy. At
one point, then-Commissioner James Ziglar issued a stern memo warning
offices that ignoring central office policy would not be tolerated, and
that responsible officers would be disciplined. (Immigration lawyers
miss Ziglar, who was underrated.) Remains to be seen whether the new
BCIS will follow suit.
