Finger Printing with N400 again?
Hi,
I'm a Brit' with a Green Card about to send in the N400 for Citizenship. I see they're asking for an extra $70 for finger printing. But I was already Finger Printed a few years back (for the FBI records as the N400 info says) that was for the Green Card. I would expect the feds to still have my details on record, wouldn't you? - can I get out of having them done again? - as I didn't see any mention of 'if you've already been finger printed' online or on the N400.
Thanks for any response.
Pete.

Officially, the FBI fingerprint check expires 15 months after it is
completed.
Don't know why; maybe many years ago the ink used to fade, so they made
this rule and forgot to update it ...

Fingerprints expire after 15 months.
Actually, the fee is not just for taking the fingerprints, but also for
checking them against the FBI database. And that has to be done right now
because you could have committed a crime since you got your GC.
